Insanity is described as the hardest workout ever put on DVD. From the words of the creator, Shaun T, “When I created the INSANITY workout, I knew it would produce insane results in 60 days, but I wasn’t sure if anyone was brave enough to try it. Turns out…there are a lot of crazy people out there. Crazy enough to actually enjoy doing the world’s most insanely tough workout. To like the feeling of being drenched in sweat…of going balls-to-the-wall for a full 45 minutes of muscle-searing exercise. Is INSANITY hard? Oh, yeah. It really IS the hardest workout ever put on DVD. It’s totally crazy…but it’s going to get you crazy-good results.” Okay, I’m sure that intimidates you a little but if you’re already in great shape and are looking for a tough workout to give you CRAZY results, Insanity is a great program for you.
I attempted Insanity a few years ago when I was completely out of shape and not eating right, and I had a really tough time. I didn’t end up finishing the program because I was a little discouraged. After doing one round of T25 Alpha, Beta and Gamma, I decided that it was time to give it another try. I figured I would be much more prepared to tackle Insanity this time around.
I am so glad I decided to give it a second try because I was able to get through the full 60 days. The biggest obstacle for me was going from a 25-minute workout to devoting 45-60 minutes a day working out, but I adjusted. Some days, I struggled to get up and push play, but I was so motivated that I forced myself to push through. By the end of the 60 days, I felt better than I have in my entire life. My body felt so strong and my endurance improved tremendously. I actually had ABS, and my arms and legs were more toned than they had ever been. I felt like I could take on any workout in the world at this point!
Is Insanity for everybody? No. If you are just starting out, I would recommend doing a round of T25 or a less challenging workout BEFORE attempting Insanity. If you have already done T25 or are already active and in good shape, go for it! I promise you, if you do this program and stick to it, you will be SHOCKED at what it does for you body!
